From there you can serve it with simply fresh herbs and tart lemon wedges for spritzing, or your favorite dipping sauce (honey mustard, bbq sauce, ranch etc), chicken gravy or other creamy pan sauce.

What is Chicken Schnitzel?

Schnitzel is a German and Austrian dish made with meat that is pounded very thin then it's coated in a standard three layer breading including flour, eggs and some type of bread crumb (such as bread crumbs, matzo meal or in this case panko), after that it's fried in a bit of oil until browned and cooked through.

To me chicken schnitzel is like a grown up, fancier version of chicken nuggets with a similar taste and texture. Just simple but delicious, with an excellent texture.

It's a straightforward process to follow and easier to make than you'd think. And I'd say yes it is definitely worth the extra dishes it takes to bread the chicken.

It is a dinner item my family has requested be added to a regular rotation, and I have the feeling yours may agree with that too!

Wondering what to serve with chicken schnitzel?

I recommend serving with:

Tray with four servings of flattened and breaded golden brown chicken schnitzel.

Cucumber Sandwiches https://www.cookingclassy.com/cucumber-sandwiches/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/cucumber-sandwiches/#comments Wed, 19 Jul 2023 04:11:22 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/?p=67945 Classic Cucumber Sandwiches! Light, refreshing, and unbelievably easy to make, they’re a staple finger food for afternoon tea, baby showers, bridal showers, picnics, and every occasion in between!

Where Did Cucumber Sandwiches Originate?

Cucumber sandwiches are often thought of as an English tradition. So, you might be surprised to learn that they were originally created in India. From there, they spread to China, the Middle East, and Europe.

It is said that the sandwiches were created by British colonists in India who were trying to find foods that would fill their bellies and relieve them from the intense heat. The sandwiches then made their way back to England and became a staple component of Victorian-era high teas.

Today, they remain a popular recipe and are enjoyed all over the world. Quick, easy, and delicious, it’s not hard to see why they have been enjoyed for thousands of years. I’ll show you how to make them in minutes for the perfect snack, appetizer, or light lunch!

And it isn't limited to just use as just a condiment for vegetables. You can use this ranch dip to dunk chicken nuggets or chicken tenders, pizza, baked fries, chips, or crackers.

You could also use it as a spread for a sandwich or over a turkey burger. So many possibilities with this deliciously tasty, abundantly herby dip!

Potato Leek Soup https://www.cookingclassy.com/potato-leek-soup/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/potato-leek-soup/#comments Mon, 21 Feb 2022 04:38:05 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/?p=63722 Simple Potato Leek Soup - it's a smooth and creamy pureed soup made with a handful of basic ingredients including an abundance of flavorful leeks and hearty potatoes. You'll love that it's a perfectly sip-able, deliciously tasty, and just a completely cozy and comforting soup!

Best Potato Leek Soup

Potato leek soup is a popular soup in Welsh and French cuisine. It's made up of mainly fresh potatoes and leeks.

And even though it's smooth and almost sauce-like in consistency, it's still hearty and filling since it is potatoes that build up the base of the soup (and they have a moderate amount of carbs, starchy fiber, and protein - specifically proteinase inhibitor 2).

It is similar to the typical potato soups found in the U.S. and elsewhere but rather it's pureed instead of chunky, and doesn't included meat. Plus it has a chicken broth base and not milk. Then another main difference is of course the use of leeks versus commonly found yellow onions.

Creamy Potato Soup https://www.cookingclassy.com/creamy-potato-soup/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/creamy-potato-soup/#comments Tue, 02 Mar 2021 15:58:00 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/creamy-potato-soup/ Potato Soup loaded with chunks of tender, hearty potatoes and made with a rich and creamy soup base. This soup is a reader favorite and for good reason - it’s easy to make and absolutely delicious! Top it with cheddar and bacon and no one will be able to resist.

The BEST Potato Soup!

This is my idea of the perfect homemade potato soup! It's creamy, it's amazingly filling and it's packed with goodness.

Growing up we had a lot of potato soup. It might have something to do with the fact that my grandparents were potato farmers so that just got passed down. My mom made it probably twice a month and now it's the same for me, especially during cold winter months.

You'll love that it's something everyone in the family can agree on, and even get's excited about when announced it's what will soon await for dinner.

It's also a very convenient recipe. Most of the ingredients are food staples you can keep on hand that don't spoil quickly. The potatoes, carrots, celery and onions store well for weeks (and if you opt for bacon that keeps great in the freezer).

This easy potato soup recipe is one I would deem worthy of your recipe book! It's an ultra comforting and cozy dish you'll turn to time and time again.

Plus it makes great leftovers for lunch the next day if you happen to have any left.

Deviled Eggs https://www.cookingclassy.com/deviled-eggs/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/deviled-eggs/#comments Sat, 04 Apr 2020 05:41:12 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/?p=53021 The best Deviled Eggs recipe! Made with a rich and creamy filling and includes ideas for various mix-ins and seasonings.

The perfect easy brunch side dish or holiday appetizer. A nostalgic recipe that should never be forgotten!

Wooden plate filled with deviled eggs. Eggs filled with a creamy mayonnaise and egg yolk filling and are garnished with chives and bacon.

What are Deviled Eggs?

Deviled eggs are hard boiled eggs that have been halved, then the yolks are removed and mashed and mixed with various ingredients such as mayonnaise, mustard and seasonings. Yolk mixture is then stuffed back into the egg white cavity.

They also go by the names stuffed eggs, dressed eggs or Russian eggs. For me they are something like 90's eggs. They just totally take me back to my childhood.

My mom made these all the time, I don't know why I don't make them more often. Every time I do I'm love their creamy texture and unique yet simplistic taste.

Just going back to basic ingredients making a simple dish that stands the test of time.

For me I'm all about including the bacon but it's completely optional. These are actually so versatile and pretty forgiving.

Add a little of this, a pinch of that, a few small chops of this, and a dash of that. A fun recipe to switch up. Continue reading and I've listed some ideas to get you thinking so you can use up what you've got.

Creamy Ham Potato and Corn Chowder https://www.cookingclassy.com/creamy-ham-potato-corn-chowder/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/creamy-ham-potato-corn-chowder/#comments Tue, 21 Aug 2018 15:43:59 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/?p=14081 Creamy Ham Potato and Corn Chowder is another delicious soup to add to the recipe rotation! You really can never have enough too many soup recipes, especially when they are this creamy and loaded with goodness! You get a rich soup loaded with lots of potatoes, sweet corn and pieces of salty ham and bacon.

Ham Potato and Corn Chower

Corn Chowder with Ham and Potatoes

Growing up we ate a lot of potato soup. My mom would make it either with ham (when we had a left over roast) or with hot dogs. I know eww. But when you are a kid - awesome!

I don't know how my mom choked that down. I know it was more economical when you have 6 kids, but as an adult I'd just rather have the plan potato vs tossing in chunks of hot dogs. But thanks Mom for thinking of the kids.

Lately I'm really loving chowders (and they always make me want to say chowda!), so I added in more than just the ham.

This also has bacon, corn and green onions or chives and they are a the perfect addition. Can you ever go wrong with adding bacon? I'll take some on my breakfast cereal please (only kidding , but I'll definitely take it as a side to my cereal any day of the week).
